Our first county camp for Brownies is now less than two weeks away. The camp team and sub camp leaders are working hard on those last minute preparations to make sure that the camp is a memorable experience for all the brownies. If any leaders who are not already attending have a few hours to spare during the week to be an "extra pair of hands" then I would be delighted to hear from you. | The next County newsletter will be published at the beginning of July. Why not write an article or send photographs about how your Brownies have been Gorgeous and Golden or Adventure 100 challenges or going a Night Flight to Nowhere at Southampton Airport or any other unit activities and centenary celebrations.Closing date for contributions is 31 May 2010.Click here for more information. |

INTOPS (International Opportunities)

Do you have girls in your unit aged 13-17who are enthusiastic about Guiding, good team players and willing to have ago at anything? If yes then why not put their name forward to attend the INTOPS weekend 10-11 July 2010 at which girls will be selected for County or Region overseas events.There are also opportunities for leaders who would like to be considered to lead or assist with County or Region trips.Nominations must be to the County International Adviser by 30 June 2010.Click here to view further information and nomination forms. |

| Auditions are taking place during the weekend 19/20 June at Redbridge Community School, Southampton. World Blood Donor Day 2010

Monday 14th June is World Blood Donor Day 2010 www.wbdd.org Where the aim is to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation and celebrate the work and history involved in donation and this year the theme is youth.
If you have an event where volunteers could supply leaflets etc to inform and educate and hopefully persuade young people or their parents to become blood donors or would like to be involved in some other way please contact the County Commissioner by email. On the day itself they are going to be recruiting donors at Gun Wharf Quays in Southsea, Portsmouth along with other young people's groups until 3 pm. |
